A day in the life at Raven Stream Elementary

Each day as you walk through the halls of the NPAS school buildings, you can hear the sounds of laughter, excitement, and learning. There are so many remarkable students and staff in each building and their dedication to the school and community go beyond the school walls. We were honored to be able to have a conversation with a few students from each building and get a glimpse into their lives while at school and outside the school day.

The interviews were fun, but more importantly we walked away proud of everything ALL students at NPAS accomplish every day within the school and community. The vibrant atmosphere at NPAS is a great environment to develop leadership skills at all levels that will benefit the community in the future.

As you read about a day in the life of Raven Stream first graders, we are positive you will be proud also!

Raven Stream Elementary - 1st Graders

Brecken, Hunter, Nora and Harper (pictured above from left to right)

What is your favorite part of the school day?
Hunter: Math. It's fun!
Harper: Play time and snack time. Playing is fun and my favorite snack is chocolate tigers!

If your backpack could talk, what would it say about your day at school?
Brecken: "How was your day at school? I missed you!"
Nora: "Did you make any new friends?"
Hunter: "I need a rest."

If you could choose one superpower to help you in school, what would it be?
Hunter: My superpower would be to know everything so school would be easy.
Nora: I would want to be invisible so I could sneak out of the school sometimes and go to the playground.

What advice would you give kindergartners to get them ready and excited for 1st grade next year?
Brecken: Give them a hug and say "I love you."
Nora: It's really fun and you get to go on a field trip where you can see friends in other classes.

What are you most looking forward to next year in 2nd grade?
Harper: I think 2nd graders get more playtime!
Brecken: I'm excited to check out books in the library and roller skating in gym class.
Hunter: We will get to do bigger art projects.
Nora: A lot of math!
