World Art Day 2026

What is World Art Day?

World Art Day, celebrated annually on April 15, is a global event that honors creativity, artistic expression, and cultural diversity. Established by the International Association of Art (IAA) in 2012, the day coincides with the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci. World Art Day encourages individuals, communities, and institutions to engage with and appreciate various forms of art through exhibitions, workshops, and public events. It serves as a reminder of the power of art to inspire, educate, and bring people together.

Help us celebrate!
The New Prague Area Arts Council wants to see YOUR art, in whatever form it takes - painting, sculpting, drawing, dance, photography, music, theater, crafts and more. Take a photo of yourself creating art and submit it by April 15. Photo submissions will be published and there will be a prize drawing for those who participate.

Dovednost Art Market

NEW! The New Prague Area Arts Council is proud to introduce the Dovednost Art Market, a premier handmade market featuring the works of fine artists for show and sale. This one-day event will showcase a curated selection of talented artisans offering high-quality goods in a variety of media including painting, photography, fiber arts, ceramics, bookmaking, jewelry, weaving and more.

Artist information:

Application deadline extended! Artists who are interested in showcasing original, handcrafted work in the Dovednost Art Market must submit an application here by May 31, 2026. Jurors will complete their review process monthly. Artists will be contacted following the review via email or phone, and all confirmations will be sent by June 15, 2026.
